Friday Night Football

Rode with some dear friends to our first out-of-town football game of the season last night!
Got there early enough to visit with daddy before kick-off.
Watching the start of the game.
Carley and her friend Addie got to go down on the track with the varsity cheerleaders and do a couple of cheers. How cool is that! They had a blast. :)

Daddy in action on the sidelines.
Zoe says it's hot! I don't think it even went below 100 degrees until after 9pm! Our precious little ones were real troopers sticking it out to the very end. Thankfully Natalie thought to have us bring their jammies so we could get them all ready for bed so they could sleep during the long ride home.
I know this one's kinda dark but it's a cool Texas Football Season sunset pic with Jeremy walking across the field.
Celebrating with daddy after the game. Congrats Coyotes on the 41-9 win!
 Our family. :)
Thanks again Natalie, we had a great time riding with you guys!

First Week of School

...was a huge success!
  • Carley came home each day saying "Kindergarten Rocks!"
  • Behavior chart was all green smiley faces every day.
  • Jeremy's classes went well even if middle school kids are "different"  ;)  Love ya babe.... God bless you this year as you make a difference in the lives of some unique youngsters. You are a great teacher and coach and they are blessed to have you.
  • Carley loves her teacher, new friends, and having new classes in the mix this year (Art and Music in addition to P.E.)
  • Home made lunchables are super awesome (easy, cheap + add a little fruit or yogurt and it's even on the healthy side.... and it all gets eaten, wahoo!)
  • Jeremy's football teams are off to a great start for the season (Big wins on Thursday and Friday night, yay!)
  • Zoe was a great helper this week as the two of us got to do all kinds of stuff I don't think I've ever done during a school week before: cleaning the garage & my car, organizing closets, putting stuff in the attic, party planning with a friend (Carley's upcoming birthday), a road trip to meet an old friend for lunch, a mid-day nap, working on projects for my art business, all of my laundry and house cleaning, whew! and this is just the first week..... I'm LOVIN' this stay at home mommy gig! ;)
  • Only thing was, by the end of the week I had aquired some kind of nasty sore throat and lost my voice... but it was back above a whisper by Friday night when we went to our first out-of-town football game with friends.
  • Thank you Jeremy for being such a wonderful husband, father and provider for our family. Thank you for encouraging me to stay home this year and pursue my dreams of being a stay at home mom and full time artist. I feel so very blessed. You are such a hard worker and I know your hours can be quite grueling but you handle it with such a positive attitude and we are so very proud of you. We love you!
Happy First Week of School!

Kindergarten

Open House was a big hit!
Carley found out her teacher would be one of the same teachers she had last year and she was so excited. We checked out the classroom and Zoe thought she wanted to go to Kindergarten too.... she picked a seat and sat down by Carley at one of the tables with the other kids, so cute!

Yesterday morning was the big First Day of Kindergarten!
Carley's teacher had sent home a little note for her to open the night before school and it had a sweet poem and a bag of confetti for Carley to tuck under her pillow to give her a good night's rest and sweet dreams. She said it worked cause she saw herself in her class and she was happy and smart. ;)
Her first words out the door on the way to school were "Kindergarten Rocks!"
I'm so happy for her, I hope it will be a truly wonderful year.

Here we go girls.
Zoe really thought it looked like fun.
Since it was the first day we got to walk with Carley to her classroom and see the kids put their things away and sit down for circle time. We all did the pledges together and then it was time to say bye for now and let
them start their day. :)

Happy Happy Day of Birthdays!

Today was a great big awesome day full of birthdays.

First of all, Happy Birthday to my big brother Thad! We love you very much and hope your day was amazing. :)

Secondly, Happy Birthday to my precious niece Katelyn who turned 2 today! We had a blast having you hang out and play today. Love you so much little Kit Kat!

And finally, tonight we also attended a surprise birthday party for one of the high school football players hosted by one of the other coaches and several other students, players, parents and friends.

What a day of Birthdays!

random pics from my iPhone

Here's some random "randomness" for you guys on this Wednesday evening.....

Loved this interactive wall of light at the Children's Museum this summer.

Another pic from the children's museum.... the giant bubble maker!
At home this week Zoe practicing eating with a fork like a big girl. :)
And chillin' in the kitchen listening to some tunes on her Sesame Street radio. ;)

Together Again

Carley is back home and the girls spent the whole day yesterday getting reaquainted with each other and with every single toy in every box and cabinet and closet in the house! Whew!
You would think it was Christmas the way they were tearing through everything like it was all brand new.
They had so much fun it was impossible to be upset about the tornado that followed them all day all over my house.
And by night time somehow we managed to get it all back in place so we could settle down and relax in peace and clean. Ha. Ha.
In the fun of it all we even tackled the much needed task of clearing out Carley's closet; replacing clothes that she's outgrown with some new back to school outfits.
Today when Jeremy gets home from practice it's off to get a new backpack and school supplies.
Kindergarten here we come!

And as promised..... art post coming today (as long as I can keep the girls interested in playing dress up while I put pics on the computer) :)

Heading out the door.....

We're on our way to pick up Carley yay!!!

I know I haven't  posted in quite a while and here's why:

Carley went to spend 9 days with her Nana and all her cousins
Jeremy started back two-a-days with football (glad it's at least in the early mornings with temps over 100 for the past 39 days and counting!)
Zoe spent 5 days with her Grandma
And I have been creating like a crazy woman in my Art studio...

So we're just about to head out the door.....
going to get our big girl today !
*(who I'm sure may not be quite ready to leave all the play time with cousins, movies, theme parks, sleepovers, swimming and summer fun)
But we can't wait to see her!

Then when we get back I promise I will be posting some pictures on my art blog and in my Etsy shop of the things I've created during this past week.

Bye for now. :)
