Random Updates

SNOW
It's snowing beautiful big fluffy snowflakes here today. They were swirling and dusting across the road in the early morning light and it looked like smoke. Now it is accumulating ....just a little bit.

BOOSTERTHON
Carley's school had their big fundraiser event yesterday. The annual Boosterthon Fun Run. Carley ran the maximum number of laps around the track plus three extra laps! She loves this event. There is an air of excitement, cheering and loud energetic music playing as the kids run. I think she ran approximately 2.25 miles (nonstop). Wow!

CHUCK E CHEESE
Last week we celebrated Shayna's 6th birthday at Chuck e Cheese. The kids and the adults enjoyed the games. It feels pretty darn good to just let loose and enjoy silly stuff like a kid every once in a while. I totally love how Tim interacts with the girls. He is hilarious and such a good hearted young man.

WALZIBUBFLAB AND KOLINOZELLA
Zoe keeps us entertained with her constant stream of interesting conversations, made up words and impromptu songs. What a personality that one has. ;)

ON THE CASE
Carley, has been working on solving a mystery. The case of the "Vintage Nancy Drew Books". One day last week we checked the mail and there were two old Nancy Drew mystery books tied together with ribbon and a note. The note was to Carley from a fellow "super sleuth" encouraging her to keep reading and exploring and to remember that in the search for clues and truth the most important truths of all come from the Bible. Carley got to work right away looking for clues. She was so baffled and so excited at the same time. Who could this be from??? She made a list of suspects: people who know she loves mysteries, people who would have been able to put this parcel in our mailbox while she was at school, people who also love Jesus.....hmmmm. She came up with a list of five names. Then she decided she needed to get handwriting samples from each suspect to compare to the note. She has finally gathered all of her writing samples but she has misplaced the note! Oh Carley! Silly girl. Now she has another mystery to solve before the actual mystery can be solved!!! I bet it's in that messy closet I keep having to tell her to clean up! lol

COACH
My sweet Jeremy is finishing up a challenging middle school basketball season and soooo very ready to be done with it. We will all be excited to have him around more often once track season starts. It will be so great to have him home for dinner every evening and free on the weekends to hang out with. Love that man. He works hard, cares deeply, gives all that he has to do the right thing and whether he knows it or not.....even on his worst days he is making a positive difference in the lives of the kids and adults he works with and in our lives.

DOWNTON ABBEY
Mom and I have become enthralled with Downton Abbey. The library had the first three seasons on DVD so we checked out the first season and wound up watching it all in two days. Then we went back and got seasons 2 & 3. We will start on those today. Maybe, force ourselves to space it out a little bit though to make it last. :)  Such a great series. Glad so many friends recommended it.

HOUSE HUNTERS
We have another very promising offer on mom's house. If all goes well it will be under contract in the next couple of days. Be praying over this process for us if you will please. We want to commit our ways to the Lord and try not to force anything or worry over things unnecessarily. Thanks.

PINK PARADE
Oh, and I hope it's ok to make this little announcement here (I think it is since they have shared with family already).........Jodi and Chris are expecting their 3rd little girl in June! Yay!!! That will bless us with 6 little girl cousins living close together: ages 8, 6, 4, 3, 2 and newborn on the way. Let the pink ribbons fly and the glitter sparkle, oh my!!!
