There's been a lot happening here the past couple of weeks.
My sweet little Zoe was sick for over a week with every symptom imaginable, even had to start doing breathing treatments on Carley's old nebulizer the day after Carley had a doctor's appointment and found out she doesn't have to do her inhaler anymore. We were so excited for Carley and then immediately worried for Zoe. But Zoe was such a great patient, taking her medicine and doing things like saying "Sawee mama" after throwing up and "Dank uuu" when I cleaned her up and held her. My girls are amazing. Now Zoe is much better and has even been able to have milk again. She slept through the night for the first time in over a week last night, praise the Lord.
So I will share with you a few of the "happier highlights" from the past couple of weeks:
Spent some time hanging out with my sister and her girls and doing projects.
Watched mom play with her grandbabies crawling all over her and clamoring for her attention.
Held baby Isabel in awe of how she had grown and changed so quickly already.
Watched my girls hang out and do things like read books, play games and create with playdoh....without fussing! What a lovely thing to see. :)
Took a picture of Zoe with all of her precious cuddle buddies at nap time.
Cooked pulled pork in my crock pot -- with Root Beer! Yum! Then did a surprise picnic after school at the park. We "kidnapped" daddy from the gym after practice and took him with us.
Kept butcher paper covering my kitchen bar for one whole week so that each day after school Carley and I could do a different painting project together as our after school activity.
Read "The Mark of the Lion" series for the second time and read "And the Shofar Blew" for the first time..... absolutely must read books from my favorite author, Francine Rivers (one of her other incredible books is Redeeming Love)
Yes, I've spent way too much time with my head in books lately, but when you are staying up all night with a baby anyway it helps pass the time. lol
Also had the best time this past weekend doing my first Artful Gatherings painting party for the children's ministry at my friend's church here in Anna. Loved it!
Then this past weekend got to go on a surprise date arranged by my hubby (since his parents were in town visiting they kept the girls). Got treated to a fancy dinner and a movie. We saw The Vow and it was great. Had a wonderful pre-valentine evening with my sweeetheart, thanks babe. Love you!
And enjoyed watching the girls get to play with their Nana and Papa.
So, there you have it. I think we're all up to date on stuff that's been happening here.
One thing I've neglected is my workout routine.... I could blame it on the cold rainy weather and sick kids and on and on, but I know better. Time to pop in a workout video and get back to getting in shape!
